The Founding Fathers: "Out of Touch Rich, Old White Guys"

Perhaps you're like me: puzzled and perplexed at Leftists who claim the Constitution and The Declaration of Independence are old, archaic, impotent documents from a bygone era, rife with mistakes and all vileness, that some judges even wish to suppress in deference to international law.  Yesterday our beloved President begrudgingly referred to The Declaration of Independence as more than words on an aging parchment, but later on in his speech he did have to raise the evil specter of of the founders as being men of privilege.  From the AP:
Obama celebrates July 4th at White House barbecue

WASHINGTON (AP) - Calling the Declaration of Independence more than words on an aging parchment, President Barack Obama marked the Fourth of July on Sunday by urging Americans to live the principles that founded the nation as well as celebrate them.

"This is the day when we celebrate the very essence of America and the spirit that has defined us as a people and as a nation for more than two centuries," Obama told guests at a South Lawn barbecue honoring service members and their families.

"We celebrate the principles that are timeless, tenets first declared by men of property and wealth but which gave rise to what Lincoln called a new birth of freedom in America —civil rights and voting rights, workers' rights and women's rights, and the rights of every American," he said. "And on this day that is uniquely American we are reminded that our Declaration, our example, made us a beacon to the world."
Oh, the horror!  Yet again, the Founding Fathers are dismissed with a wave of the hand and a snarky "they were just a bunch of old, rich white guys," ignoring the huge personal sacrifices they made for our nation.

But, luckily one of my favorite bloggers has set the record straight, calling our attention to the superhuman courage and self-sacrifice our Founding Fathers had and made.  Bob Parks of Black & Right posted an excellent video in which he summarizes an important history lesson we all would do well to learn ... especially our President and his cabinet.

My 2007 video on the not-so-rosy aftermath of the signing the Declaration of Independence. Text written by Rush Limbaugh’s dad.

It's disgusting to see such a callous lack of respect from The President of the United States.  But hey! -- if he bows to other heads of state, why wouldn't he bow to the whims of the Left who wish to abolish revise and rewrite history to serve some nefarious scheme.

Read your history, people!  Its foundation and founders are being increasingly distorted everyday!
