Parallels Between "Progressive" America and the USSR
Here's an interesting opinion piece from Investor's Business Daily on Oct. 21st. Kunin draws some eerie parallels between her youth living in the former Soviet Union and what she is experiencing now as a U.S. citizen.
USSR, 1959: I am a "young pioneer" in school. History classes remind us that there is a higher authority than their parents and teachers: the leaders of the Communist Party.
The story of young pioneer Pavlik Morozov is required reading. Pavlik reported his father to the secret police for disobeying government regulations. His life exemplified the duty of all good Soviet citizens to serve their government.
From the first year in school, all of us are made aware of our ethnicity (ethnic Russian, Jewish, Asian, etc.) and class (proletariat, intelligentsia), around which society is structured. This inherent divisiveness makes it easy for the government to stir ethnic and class tension and in this way distract from economic failure.
Newspapers and TV transmit government-approved news. Any critical voice is immediately suppressed and publicly denounced.
My parents, as all citizens of the USSR, work for state-run companies. All workers are unionized — another way the state controls the citizens. There is no private enterprise in USSR.
Whatever small private farms or shops that existed before 1930 have been taken over by the state. All medical care and schools are state entities. The government regulates what kind of technology, service and compensation are allowed.
From school age through adulthood, citizens are called to public service four to five times a year. Activities such as farming, cleaning places of work, and paper/metal scrap collections are mandatory.
Religious symbols are forbidden in schools or on state property. Most old religious buildings are transformed for secular use.
The Soviet government imposes the Iron Curtain. The state has strict control over our ability to travel abroad. This prevents us from realizing the discrepancy between the media's image of the great socialist country and the reality of our low standard of living.
USA, 2009: "Progressives" control the government. Children in some public schools sing songs about the president and study his directives.
Progressives view people not as unique individuals, but as groups. They play on class envy, or divide people by ethnicity (African-American, white, Hispanic, etc.). From early childhood they remind children of their ethnic identity. The idea of a color-blind society united under the American flag is not politically correct.
The mainstream media are aligned with the government. Those media outlets critical of government policy are publicly criticized by government officials and are in danger of suffering repercussions.
Government seizes a majority stake in two major auto companies and, through TARP money, has control over major banks. Congress discusses capping salaries in private businesses and is in the process of increasing its control over the health care industry.
Big labor union leadership is fully aligned with the progressives in government. There is strong pressure to eliminate the secret ballot in order to increase union membership.
Cap-and-trade, if passed, will drive a lot of small businesses into bankruptcy and create a fruitful soil for favoritism and government control over private entities.
Sept. 11 is declared a day of national service by the administration. It is no longer a day of remembrance for the horrific attack perpetrated by terrorists.
The American Constitution protects the separation between church and state. Atheist zealots pervert this ideal in order to force out religious symbols and traditions from public space. It is fashionable in progressive circles to ridicule religion and religious people. "Tolerance" is applied only to anti-religious values.
As a former citizen of the USSR, I heard and experienced all of this before. I listen to the speeches by the president asking people to sacrifice and serve. So what are we to sacrifice? For what? And to whom? I think I get it now.
Citizens of America, sacrifice your elders and forget your selfish aspirations of prosperity for yourself and your family! Sign onto Service.gov and serve your government!

MSM Grow A Pair
... and stand up for FoxNews in the Obama administration's attempts to shun FoxNews from the White House pool.
It's reassuring to see the rest of the MSM come to their senses and realize that, with Obama's attempt at a Chavez-lite media shutdown, they are also at risk of being put on the chopping block. Maybe they'll also start to wake up and realize how they've been manipulated by Obama's team ... as well as by the Left.
Remember this clip of Anita Dunn, interim White House communications director? She was speaking back in January at a Dominican event, "Global Foundation for Democracy and Development", about how the Obama campaign team manipulated the media. (I'm sure the delicious irony of her words in relation to the event's title is lost on her and the Left.)
"message discipline" ... making the press cover what we were saying ... getting our message out without having to talk to reporters ... it was very much we controlled it as opposed to the press controlled it ... very rarely did we communicate anything through the press that we didn't absolutely control (2:20) ... what the voters heard we determined as opposed to some editor in a TV station (2:47) ...
Spooky.

Kevin Jackson - The Black Sphere - to Appear on Beck Nov. 3 or 5
Kevin Jackson is my favorite speaker at local tea parties. I've heard him speak at three different tea party events: the 4/15 Tea Party in downtown St. Louis, the Quincy event on 9/12, and the one in St. Charles last month. I'm in the middle of reading his book -- "The Big Black Lie -- How I Learned the Truth About the Democrat Party" -- which I'm enjoying.
Anyway, this local man is going to appear on Glenn Beck -- Nov. 3rd of 5th! (5:00 p.m. EST). It's exciting to see a local guy get some national coverage! Jackson is fighting the notion that the DNC is the only party for Blacks and that, rather, the Conservative movement is the one that truly has values that will lift up the Black community AND that does not have the racist past that the Dems do.
He's great! Check him out, if you have a chance.
(His blog is The Black Sphere His current op piece is titled "Democrats Hate Blacks.")

Olbermann Launches Attack on Tea Partiers

YOU CAN HELP MAKE A FOOL OUT OF KEITH OLBERMANN!
Last night Keith Olbermann launched into a tirade against our conservative, grass roots movement, the Tea Party Express II: Countdown to Judgment Day. Olbermann and other liberals are quite unhappy that "We The People" are rising up to take our country back from the liberal tax-spend-bailout politicians.
Olbermann's central point of mockery of the Tea Party Express was that no one would show up at our rallies, and no one was signing up for our Facebook page. Watch Olbermann's rant against the Tea Party Express and then find out how you can fight back and help us make a fool out of Keith Olbermann:
Help us make a fool out of Keith OIbermann and prove him wrong by making a contribution to the Tea Party Express and helping us turn out huge crowds!
During his anti-Tea Party rant, Keith Olbermann showed a Facebook event page with only 192 confirmed attendees. But he was pulling a fast one on his viewers. What he didn't tell you is that we had just put the page up - only a few hours before! But he tried to make it look like our effort was dead. And he couldn't be further from the truth as thousands are now signing up.
So now help us prove Keith Olbermann wrong. One of the central elements of success for our Tea Party Express has been to generate large crowds. But with limited time before our launch we have to get the word out to large numbers, fast. One way we are doing that is by ramping up our TV and radio advertising campaign to get the word out to millions of Americans to come join our Tea Party Express rallies.
Time is running out and we urgently need your help now!
Help us raise money for our advertising campaign to turn out huge crowds by making the most generous contribution you can afford - HERE.
Or, you can mail in a contribution to our headquarters:
Our Country Deserves Better CommitteeATTN: Tea Party Project770 L Street #1020Sacramento, CA 95814The maximum allowed contribution is $5,000 per individual. Most of you will be able to afford less than that. Whatever you contribute, whether it's $25 or $50 or $100, or a more generous contribution of $250, $500 or $1,000 or more.
Here's a great, must-see, report on the Tea Party Express. It's an actual live broadcast from one of our rallies that appeared on Fox News Channel. This is the scene that Keith Olbermann doesn't want to see repeated. Please watch this news report, and then if you like what you see, help us respond to Keith Olbermann by making a contribution to the Tea Party Express:
If you liked what we did with the first Tea Party Express you're going to love what we have in store for our second effort. It's going to be even bigger and better yet!
So please lend us your support. You can contribute online right now - HERE.

Rush: Is He or the PC Police Racist?
All the hoopla these past few days surrounding Rush Limbaugh's bid to be a co-investor in the St. Louis Rams is quintessential PC lunacy and hypocrisy. I love Kevin Jackson's take on the situation -- a Black conservative at The Black Sphere (emphasis added):Limbaugh Said To Want Slaves
Why all the hoopla over Limbaugh wanting to buy part of the Rams? It is based mainly on two things. First, he is a Conservative Republican. And because of his politics, Limbaugh is being attacked, one Democrat saying that Limbaugh can’t wait to “own a team of black slaves.” There it is…slavery! Democrats having the nerve to bring up slavery…their institution!
I always find the irony funny when the Left demonizes Republicans, they always choose things of which THEY are guilty. For the record, Republicans FREED the slaves that Democrats OWNED. But the Left doesn’t care about the facts, as they like keeping silly Negros stupid! It’s just make them both feel good.
Speaking of silly Negros, the black players on the Rams say they won’t play for Rush Limbaugh, should Limbaugh buy the team. With the Rams 0-fer record, I contend the black players are not playing for the current owner either.
Black players have no clue about the politics of their current owners, yet they are happy to accept their paychecks. I have worked for many companies, and in the interview process, I never asked, “Is the owner of the company a racist?” How would I know, unless he declared himself or herself a Democrat?! Moreover, even if the company owner was a racist, I don’t care! Just make sure my check clears!
Next, black players are supposedly angry with a comment Limbaugh made about McNabb years ago, when Limbaugh implied that if McNabb were not black, there would have been little discussion of his abilities as a quarterback. Limbaugh opined that McNabb was an average quarterback, unworthy of the big deal being made about him at the time. Nothing racist there; just an observation, and one I and likely millions of other football aficionados—black and white—agreed with.
Limbaugh went on to say that the NFL needed a black quarterback darling, which is why McNabb got press he got. This may or may not be true, but was the opinion of Limbaugh. The comment was in no way racist, unless you suffer from a victim mentality—or if you are a race-baiting Liberal, i.e. a racist!
The comment was meant to be thought-provoking, and it was. In this time of political correctness, it was an interesting point to ponder. There are no black owners in the NFL, and the NFL had just begun addressing the issue of black coaches, after years of “black coach oppression.” Prior to the coaching issues, there was the black quarterback issue. It has been a theory that the NFL did not want black quarterbacks, since the position of quarterback implied leadership of the team. The guy running the show. The NFL back in the day said openly that there were no qualified blacks to be NFL quarterbacks, and it was not a conspiracy. So black quarterbacks who led their teams to national championship were good enough for college, but were better receivers or kick-off returners in the pros? Socialist please!I'm in the middle of reading Jackson's book "The Big Black Lie: How I Learned the Truth about The Democrat Party." He has been my favorite speaker at several tea parties, laying the smack down on liberal PC idiocy and taking the "race card" to those who so quickly and carelessly deal it -- Liberals.
Limbaugh shined the light on the idea that the NFL may be practicing that age old Democrat practice of subterfuge, when he asked people to look at the bigger picture, ergo McNabb was the “NFL darling!”
If Bill Clinton had said it, it would not have been negative news. The comment would have been considered ground-breaking, and Clinton a hero. A great Democrat looking out for the common “colored man,” and protector the lowly Negro…just like all those Southern Democrats protected blacks in the past!
However because Limbaugh who said it, Liberals pulled out their race cards, en masse, and the public lynching of Limbaugh began in earnest. He was ceremoniously fired, and order was restored to Bizarro World.
Black players, most of whom are from poor backgrounds want to suddenly take a stand on whom they are willing to be owned by. Black players are content with Democrat “massas,” but not with anybody else?
Here’s the wrap:
Limbaugh represents all the things that the Left despises. First he is a Conservative and a Republican, so this by definition is a Capitalist. The Left hates Capitalists. You can further confirm that Limbaugh is a Capitalist, because he wants to BUY the Rams, and not have the government GIVE him the Rams, in the form of a bailout, reparations, or otherwise. He prefers to buy low and sell high, which implies improving the team.
A man who has built an empire, and arguably the most successful radio talk show network ever shows interest in your team, and the black players want to paint him as a racist—as if they could actually spot one. Limbaugh is a winner, pure and simple, and an Old School winner at that. Limbaugh has more in common with those black athletes than any owner for which they have played or the white racist Democrats who are always so ready to speak on behalf of blacks.
The black players in the league should take a page from The Dixie Chicks…shut up and play!
Kevin Jackson's book is available on Amazon.
[By the way, anyone else see the Orwellian angle of that Time Magazine cover of Limbaugh? "Talk radio is only the beginning. Electronic populism threatens to short-circuit representative democracy." As Jackson said in his op piece: "Socialist, please!" ]
Support The Troops! 'Cause Our Senators Sure As Hell Ain't!!!!!
This story makes me sick to my stomach and madder than hell to think that some dumbass politicians have actually been diverting funds from our troops to pet projects, such as an educational institute named in honor of Teddy Kennedy and a space surveillance system in Maui. This from The Washington Times (emphasis added):
U.S. Troop Funds Diverted to Pet Projects
Study finds $2.5 billion taken from guns and ammunition
By Shaun Waterman THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.
Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.
While earmarks are hardly new in Washington, "in 30 years on Capitol Hill, I never saw Congress mangle the defense budget as badly as this year," said Winslow Wheeler, a former Senate staffer who worked on defense funding and oversight for both Republicans and Democrats. He is now a senior fellow at the Center for Defense Information, an independent research organization.
Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, called the transfer of funds from Pentagon operations and maintenance "a disgrace."
"The Senate is putting favorable headlines back home above our men and women fighting on the front lines," he said in a statement.
Mr. Wheeler, who conducted the study, compared the Obama administration's requests for funds with the $636 billion spending bill that the Senate passed. He discovered that senators added $2.6 billion in pet projects while spending $4 billion less than the administration requested for fiscal 2010, which began Oct. 1.
Mr. Wheeler said that senators took most of the cash for the projects from the "operations and maintenance" or O&M accounts.
"These are the accounts that pay for troop training, repairs, spares and supplies for vehicles, weapons, ships and planes, food and fuel," Mr. Wheeler said.
Raiding those accounts to fund big-ticket projects the military does not want, but that benefit senators' home states or campaign contributors, amounts to "rancid gluttony," he said.
The administration's budget requested $156 billion for the regular O&M account and $81 billion for O&M for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The bill passed by the Senate cut $2.4 billion from the regular account and $655 million from the war O&M fund.
Senate appropriators insisted that the O&M accounts, despite the cuts, do not shortchange the troops.
"The operation and maintenance title is fully funded," Appropriations Committee Chairman Daniel K. Inouye, Hawaii Democrat, said during the debate on the bill. "There is no shortage. ... The committee is deeply concerned that the critical operational needs of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines are met with the finest equipment available."
Money for the Kennedy Institute was inserted by Mr. Inouye and Sen. John Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat. Sen. Mary L. Landrieu, Louisiana Democrat, and Sen. David Vitter, Louisiana Republican, sought the funding for the World War II museum.
Whitney Smith, a spokesman for Mr. Kerry, said the earmark was "a worthy investment."
"Sen. Kennedy served on the Armed Services Committee for 27 years, where he fought to deliver top-of-the-line body armor and armored Humvees to protect our troops and save lives. Educating Americans about these battles is a core mission for the Edward M. Kennedy Institute, which showcases one senator's ability to make a difference," Mr. Smith wrote in an e-mail. "This funding will help the Edward M. Kennedy Institute become one the nation's pre-eminent civic educational institutions, and Sen. Kerry is proud to have worked with Chairman Inouye to make it possible." (BARF!!!!) ...
Beyond those two earmarks, the largest in the Senate bill are:
- $20 million for Humvee maintenance at an Army National Guard installation in Maine, sponsored by Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia J. Snowe, Maine Republicans. The senators said cuts in the maintenance program proposed by the administration would result in the "layoff of 175 employees in a region already suffering" from the recession.
- $20 million for the Maui Space Surveillance System in Hawaii, requested by Mr. Inouye.
- $25 million inserted by Mr. Inouye for the Hawaii Federal Health Care Network. Mr. Inouye's Web site says the health care program "supports applied research, development and deployment of technology to improve access and the quality of care to service members, military families and impacted communities."
Laura Peterson, of Taxpayers for Common Sense, a nonpartisan spending watchdog, told The Washington Times, "Earmarks like these take money away from other defense programs that the Defense Department actually wants. While military health care is certainly a worthwhile venture, it's hard to see how a program located in Hawaii that openly favors Hawaii-based industries guarantees [the Department of Defense] the best value for such an exorbitant price tag."
Mr. Inouye had a total of 35 earmarks worth more than $206 million in the final bill, and the ranking Republican on the committee, Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi, sponsored 48 worth $216 million.
Mr. Cochran defended earmarking as part of Congress' responsibility to direct government spending.
"I am not ready to cede the power of the purse to any administration," he told The Times in an e-mail. "It is vested by the Constitution in the Congress." He added that appropriators had "reviewed the budget request very carefully, conducted public hearings and reported the appropriation bills that the committee thinks will serve the public interest.""Rancid gluttony" -- perfect description! And, if those nitwits in D.C. continue down this road of lunacy, there will be more parents that have lost children and more little babies without parents.

My Daddy Is An Exotic Dancer
[Thanks, V!]
One day a fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up -- fireman, mechanic, businessman, salesman, doctor, lawyer, and so forth.
However, little Justin was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the teacher prodded him about his father, he finally replied, "Okay...my father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes in front of other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he will go home with some guy and stay with him all night for money."
The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and then took little Justin aside to ask him, "'Is that really true about your father?"
'No', the boy said, "He actually works for the Democratic National Committee and helped get Barack Obama elected President last year, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the class."

Conservatives v. Liberals
I received this e-mail today ... [Thanks, Mary!]One vs. the Other
If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.
If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a Black or Hispanic man is conservative, he sees himself as independently successful.
His liberal counterpart sees himself as a victim in need of government protection.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.
If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.
If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

Starbucks Trashes Tea Partiers
I never really "got" Starbucks. It seems like a lot of hoopla surrounding overpriced coffee that has been dressed up in hipness.
Yet more snobbery from an already snobby trend. And you wonder why Starbucks had to close 600 stores last July. I wonder what their logic was in the above advertising campaign -- one that could possibly turn away more consumers, resulting in more store closures. Smart.
And a good reason to buy Kaldi's Coffee! They're a St. Louis-based company, and I always think it's best to patronize local business owners before big chains.

Listen to Overpaid Celebrities
Remember the goofy ad that some Hollywood elitists produced and released a week or so ago, where they sarcastically argue on behalf of Big Insurance? (Go here if you missed it - "Something Terrible Is Happening.")
Well, here's a great response to that idiocy: "Listen to Overpaid Celebrities"
"Overpaid celebrities don't have a big enough voice when it comes to health care." Yeah, baby!

Hollywood Racists: Janeane Garofalo Attacks Tea Party As "White Identity" Movement
It seems that comedienne Janeane Garofalo was on another one of her tirades against the Right, claiming that the Tea Party Movement is a racist one. She was on Friday night HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, claiming the "tea baggers" were part of a racist, white identity movement, supposedly "led by the Glenn Becks, the Michelle Bachmans, and the Rush Limbaughs."
Here's what Bob Parks, the Black conservative blogger of Black & Right said about Garofalo (emphasis added):
[It also contrasts greatly with Marcus' opinion piece posted below this entry ...]
Here's what Bob Parks, the Black conservative blogger of Black & Right said about Garofalo (emphasis added):
Her latest mission is to defend someone she clearly deems an inferior (despite the obvious power of his office), Barack Obama ..."Hollywood racist." I love it, Bob! Grrrrrrrrr!!!!
For years now I contend that white liberals consider black people their pets, and Janeane Garofalo is no different. But using race as the basis for her argument, especially being a “comedian” who based on her body of work would stay unemployed if she were black, is clearly being done for her own sense of relevance.
Oh, and besides looking at black people as pets, liberals love to use them as well, as reflected with the many actresses who just have to adopt a minority baby as an I’m-better-than-you accessory.
Would white Hollywood EVER show constant depictions of their children as gangsta’ thugs and their women as hos? We always hear different liberal groups get all bent over Playmates or Hooter girls, but when was the last time an industry bigwig ever condemned the slutting of black women in entertainment? I’ve mentioned before the Hollywood exec preference for light-skinned black women, as they’re the ones who get most of the gigs. But has Janeane Garofalo ever asked why black people are presented to the world in such a demeaning way?
...
Janeane Garofalo, in that quest for relevance, is exploiting Barack Obama, and as she’s using race as her basis, is a racist herself. Once she addresses the racist cesspool she freely associates with, she has no business calling any law-abiding, citizen who wishes to protest the direction a president is taking the country, something she clearly is herself.
Probably not, because that’s probably how she sees blacks. Now that an Affirmative Action candidate has gotten the top job, she sees any resistance to Barack Obama as an opportunity to rescue and take him to a shelter for mistreated animals.
Like most liberals, she is gutless and seldom (I can’t think of a recent exception) goes on a venue with equal sides of a debate and participate. She prefers shows like Bill Maher and Keith Olbermann where she can spew unchallenged.
She calls tea party protesters racist teabaggers. If that’s the case, Janeane Garofalo is a Hollywood racist. While the 9/12 crowd protests the president, many liberals in Hollywood still have no problem in harassing and denigrating black people, and do so with impunity.

Tea Parties: Their Unexpected Outgrowth
At American Thinker I found a great opinion piece by Black conservative Lloyd Marcus, a regular on the Tea Party Express Tour. It confirms my own experiences and viewpoints of the tea partiers I have seen at the now 3 tea parties I have attended.
Here is Marcus' piece (emphasis added):

Unexpected Outgrowths of the Tea Party Movement
by Lloyd Marcus
Is God back? While watching the Glenn Beck program, three women, yes I said three, boldly proclaimed their Christianity and how their decision to follow Christ has affected their politics. Other than religious programs, people do not talk about their faith on TV without being portrayed as fanatics or nut cases. It was truly refreshing. Could this mean God is back from exile from the public square?
Another Beck show guest was a black man, Charles V. Payne, founder, CEO and Chief Analyst of Wall Street Strategies. Payne shared his moving tale of growing up in a poor inner city neighborhood. He said his fellow black students beat him up daily for "speaking too white", getting good grades and daring to have a dream of becoming a businessman. "The kids were not simply jealous of me, they were extremely hostile" said Payne. He attributes the black students' negative attitudes to a victim and entitlement mindset instilled in them by liberals.
I thought to myself, "Wow!" Black people do not come on TV and tell the truth about the negative effects liberalism has had on the black community. Nor, does anyone hold blacks accountable. Blacks are victims. Every and any problem they could possibly have is the fault of rich, racist, conservative, white Republicans. I mean, everybody knows that!
And then there is the hyphenated American thing. I have shared with you that while I was performing on the Tea Party Express Tour, I opened the rallies by saying, "I am not an African American. I am Lloyd Marcus....AMERICAN!" The audience erupted with applause at all 34 rallies. This hyphenated American thing is like the fairy tale, The Emperor's New Clothes. It appears most Americans dislike hyphenating. However, enslaved by political correctness and a desire to appear enlightened, sensitive and educated, everyone simply went along with the program.
This hyphenated American thing is like the fairy tale, The Emperor's New Clothes. Con artists convinced the Emperor that the invisible fabric they used for his new attire was so special only the most enlightened could see it. At the public unveiling, the Emperor proudly paraded down the streets in his new outfit while supplicants applauded it's great beauty. Then a little boy yelled, “Mom look, the Emperor is NAKED!” Suddenly everyone, including the Emperor, was forced to acknowledge the truth. Like the little boy in the story who spoke the truth, my public rejection of hyphenating is liberating Americans across America. I am inundated with letters of thanks and support.
Something unexpected and wonderful is happening across America folks. The Tea Party Movement has awakened a powerful sleeping giant silent majority. Americans are starting to say, "no" to political correctness; "no" to banning God from the public square, "no" to politicians who ignore the Will of the people, "no" to secular progressives and "no" to dead beats who think they are entitled due to their skin color, sex, economic status or whatever. "Enough!" is the battle cry of millions of Tea Party protesters.
While the main focus of the Tea Party Movement is a rebuke of outrageous government overreaching and out of control spending, the movement has embolden patriots to stand up for the traditions, institutions and values which have made America great. Thus, their slogan, "Take Back America!" It is truly amazing to witness.
With kids having to walk through metal detectors to enter their schools, fatherless black male students dropping out at epidemic rates, kids brutally physically assaulted by other kids on schools buses, and middle schools having to install Day Care centers to accommodate the large numbers of children having children, perhaps the libs will allow prayer back in schools.
Nah... that will never happen. According to the Left, letting God back in schools would really screw up our kids!

Obama Slammed by SNL!!
Could it be that Saturday Night Live is starting wake and see the light, turning its back on Obama? This skit slams him pretty hard on what he has and has not accomplished.
After listing the things he hasn't accomplished, such as global warming, immigration reform, torture prosecutions, gays in the military (gee, can you see SNL's leanings?) the Obama impersonator finally does say the two "big" accomplishments he has made so far: "jack" and "squat."
(I like the idea of Obama giving away t-shirts for those buying a car in the next 6 months.)

St. Charles Tea Party!!
This past Friday, Oct. 2nd, I attended the St. Charles Tea Party held at Frontier Park on the Missouri River. My co-domestic terrorist, aka "Mom", and I arrived early in order to get a good parking spot and a place to plop down our chairs. We checked out the booths and chatted with the various booth operators. Country music blared from the speakers as people checked out and chatted about their signs and previous attendance at tea parties. The weather was cloudy and with a stiff wind, but luckily we had brought our trusty T.E.A. caps ("taxed enough already") and jackets.
The line-up of speakers included Diane Jones of KLPW 1220 AM Radio, Catherine Bleisch of the Liberty Restoration Project (what an eloquent speaker at only 25 years of age!), Kevin Jackson of The Black Sphere (pictured to left) and author of his newly released book "The Big Black Lie: How I Learned the Truth About the Democrat Party" (available at Amazon) -- my favorite speaker at the 4/15 Tea Party in St. Louis, the 9/12 Tea Party in Quincy, IL and at this Tea Party!, Stephanie Rubach -- a critical care nurse and fellow Black "sell out", as she's been called, Dr. Bob Onder, physician, lawyer and former State Representative, and Paul Curtman, former U.S. Marine.
KTVI Channel 2 News and reporter Chris Regnier were there to film the event and interview participants. I was pleased that his report was rather neutral and did not seem biased! WOW!!! He said that crowd estimates ranged from 1,000-2,000, which is what I would say. (Go here to see Regnier's report both in text and video form.)
In visiting with booth operators, I met some interesting folks. Check them out!
• The St. Charles County Pachyderm Club: www.sccpachydermclub.org They meet every Friday at noon
• K&N Patriots (www.K-N-Patriots.org), a group that holds weekly opposition rallys every Saturday 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the intersections of highways K and N in O'Fallon, MO
• Missouri Sovereignty Project that was asking for tea partiers to sign their petition to "institutionalize" the U.S. Constitution's 10th Amendment, which would allow Missouri to nullify any law enacted by the U.S. government that suppresses, violates, interferes with, or deters any Missourian's "unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty, and pursuit of Happiness."
• Show Me Patriots, whose mission is to educate, motivate and activate patriots by providing the resources they need to spread the word and combat the influence of too much government. Regular meetings are held in Chesterfield, MO. They are non-partisan and focus on network with other like-minded groups to demonstrate against a federal government that has exceeded the bounds of the Constitution
• Freedom Ladies, who were selling funny t-shirts (like this one about Obama) while raising funds for the USO. (They may be contacted at freedomladies@gmail.com.)
I was a bit creeped out when a man handed me a flyer for The John Birch Society. It was for a national opinion poll, but it looks more like a good way to get spammed with a ton of junk mail to try to get you to join.
A flyer handed out by the Tea Party Express had a handy list of good "watch dog" websites:
