Infatuation for Obama Waning; Matthews Calls O's Administration "Carteresque"

It appears that Chris Matthews and the other Libs who were so smitten with Obama (read: "fell under the spell of the Pied Piper's flute") are starting to lose their affection for Dear Leader.   Matthews today used these words:
"The word these days is optics, visuals, signals. In the Carter presidency, the optics were not exactly robust, and Ronald Reagan rode that to a big victory in 1980. Is the Obama White House sending some Carteresque signals these days? Some see that in the deep bow to the Emperor of Japan, an unforced error say critics."  [source]
In the discussion, his guests Anne Kornblut and David Ignatius of The Washington Post agree:

Who in the Republican Party in "Reaganesque style" will be able to ride Obama's blunders to a big victory in 2012?
